There are many reasons to go anywhere else in the world that you have never been to. Something new to see, experience other cultures, and most importantly, to stop being such a snob about your culture/place of existence. Many people, whether they admit it, think that all the other places in the world are so full of shit. They make these places seem less important than where they exist; I'm talking about metropolitan Americans, of course. I, however, am trying to break away from that shell. But more than that, I am trying to find my true place on this planet. Who knows, I might be happiest living in Kenya. I won't know, until I am more than well informed about where to go... and more importantly, why. To start off, the Emerald Isle. Or rather, Ireland.
5) You don't live there! I really don't know if I can emphasize the whole visiting another world on this planet thing? Plus, how awesome would it be to start off a conversation with the phrase: "I've been to Ireland, it was EPIC!"
4) They already have a lot of tourists there. This could be both a good and a bad thing. Good because there will be a lot of info on fun things to to as a tourist. And, there's the whole, 'not getting kidnapped' thing because you're an American. Which leads to the bad. I'm more than positive, in fact, it's more like a belief of mine that there have been more than a fair share of obnoxious American tourists in Ireland. I would want to go there to prove specifically that American tourists are not assholes (testing is still being completed, actually). I would go to Ireland, and announce that I'm an American, once I have been more than kind and respectful to the people of Ireland. Yup, breaking down barriers, that's me!
3) Home of Riverdance! Am I the only person that thinks that this is awesome on its own and that it need no explanation? Oh, and by the way, I'm not high at all :)
2) It's the home of Guinness! And pubs! I'm not gonna get into the whole, England and Scotland have pubs too thing because while, yes, they are pubs, no, they are not Irish pubs. Any questions? As for the Guinness, well what can I say? I for one would once like to say (even though it's such a cliche) "can I get a pint of Guinness?" It's actually dream of mine.
1) Irish Guys or Men (whatever I'm in the mood for). These is something so special about the gents from Ireland. It's their accent. It truly excites me. It makes me all happy and tingly on the inside when I hear it in TV shows or movies. Image hearing it in person? I don't think my body would survive. The accent alone coming from a great looking Irish gent would so be worth the trip.
Well that's my list. Don't know what you expected, but these are reasons why I'm going to the great Emerald Isle. If you wanted destination to go, or something like that, well there are many guidebooks as well as websites out there for you to look at. What can I say? My job is not to simplify your life, but rather to give you incentive to get out of your bubble.
So go, lovers of mine, get out of your bubbles as soon as you can! Until next time, let's be free to be you and me; let's be young and free!
